Port Orange, Florida – September 27, 2014
Although it has been over a decade since The Kaleo Institute awarded a honorary doctorate, Pastor Fred Gorini has been working toward the honor by serving as senior pastor of The Rock Church of Daytona Beach for over 31 years. Known in the family of Rock churches as a spiritual leader, wise and gracious counselor, passionate evangelist, and dedicated student of the Word of God, Pastor Fred – as he is known by his church – is a spiritual father to many, both in the greater Daytona Beach area and around the world.
Pastor Fred has written six published books, including “The Incarnation of Truth” and “To The Unknown God”, both of which are in the Kaleo library. He has also served for the past seven years at the Daytona chapter of Bikers for Christ and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
Rev. Dr. Frederick Gorini is married to co-pastor Rev. Phyllis Gorini, a vibrant and powerful servant of the Lord, and is the father of Kaleo alumni, Robert Gorini and Kris and Keren Mohrman, who serve in various capacities alongside their dad at The Rock Church of Daytona Beach in full time ministry. Pastor Fred’s eldest daughter, Christy, was also at the ceremony as well as many of Pastor Fred’s extended family; including Pastor Fred’s mom Annette Catalano and three of his grandchildren, Benjamin Loyd, Ellie Mohrman, and Livia Gorini.
The ceremony took place during the Rock Churches annual Cumbre Conference at Pastor Fred’s church in Port Orange, Florida. Key leaders in the Rock church were in attendance, including Pastor Fred’s pastor, Rev. David Dillon from The Rock Church of Franklin, Virginia. Kaleo Institute trustee, Dr. Jay Leroux was the quest speaker for the weekend and was able to join Kaleo founders Dr. Ken and Mary Jane Brewer and Kaleo academic dean, Dr. Chris Brewer on the platform to the present the Doctor of Divinity certificate.
It was a great honor for The Kaleo Institute to formally honor and celebrate the ministry of such an inspiring servant of the Lord. Thank you Rev. Dr. Frederick Gorini for your ongoing service to the body of Christ, may the Lord bless you and your ministry for many years to come.
